Costa Coffee unveils first uplifted store in London

Costa Coffee has reopened its Tooley Street store in London following a makeover designed to offer customers the ‘ultimate convenience’ with touch screen ordering systems.

The site marks the first ‘uplifted’ Costa store in London, which it said elevates the coffee experience with an array of innovative and enticing new features. This includes the touch screen ordering systems which can help customers ‘get their coffee faster than ever before’, although the coffee giant notes that its expert baristas will remain on hand for those who enjoy the personal touch.

This type of technology is becoming increasingly common on the bakery and coffee scenes with Subway recently adding interactive kiosks to some of its stores. The sandwich specialist plans to roll them out to every UK store by the end of the year.

Costa has also sought to enhance its breakfast experience with the Tooley Street store offering a new range of freshly baked pastries, which it said are baked in-store each day. These include Cheese Twists and Pain au Chocolat, available alongside the likes of croissants as well as Costa’s existing food and drink menu with seasonal specialities. Its recently unveiled summer menu includes a Gingernut Loaf Cake, Tandoori Spiced Bhaji Flatbread, and Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap.

Alongside the streamlined ordering process, the re-opened store has been revamped with modern interior decoration, locally inspired artwork, and comfortable furniture, Costa noted.

“We’re thrilled to unveil the refreshed Costa Coffee store on Tooley Street, designed to be the perfect space for all,” said Luke Shaughnessy, regional operations director at Costa Coffee.

“With a fresh bakery range, the latest technology for seamless ordering, and a bright, uplifted interior, our renovated London store is the ideal spot for customers to recharge and connect with friends, family or colleagues, or to quickly pick up their go-to Costa coffee whilst they’re on-the-go.”

The Tooley Street Costa Coffee store is open from 6am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 7am to 8pm on Sunday. Customers can also order via the Costa Club App, and partnered delivery apps.
