Patrick and Brittany Mahomes joined a growing list of celebrities and public figures who attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London on Friday. The couple watched a match on Centre Court between 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and American Frances Tiafoe.
For Day Five of Wimbledon, both Mahomes styled fashionable looks, with Brittany opting for tennis-core inspiration. Brittany fashioned a navy tennis dress look courtesy of Gucci, which featured red and white detailing on the small placket of the polo shirt, collar and hem of the pleated miniskirt.
Brittany continued the preppy style motif with a pair of white trainers and heart-shaped crossbody bag. For his attire, Patrick opted for a double-breasted gray pin-striped suit with a white cotton T-shirt. Like his wife, Patrick wore a pair of white trainers to complete his look and accessorized with a pair of sunglasses, which featured lenses in a shade of yellow for an added pop of color.
Tennis-core and tennis-inspired apparel has been a major style trend as of late. The 2024 film “Challengers” helped elevate the style, which featured the film’s star Zendaya wearing a number of tennis-inspired looks throughout the film’s promotional tour.
Brittany Mahomes’ look, however, follows a more traditional take on the tennis-core aesthetic. The polo shirt and pleated miniskirt were reminiscent of the type of tennis kits and outfits a number of women have worn on the Women’s Tennis Association tour for decades, though contemporary styles have been elevated by the likes of Serena Williams and other prominent current and former players.
They joined the likes of David Beckham, Jameela Jamil, Kim Cattrall, Maria Sharapova and more at the 2024 Wimbledon tennis tournament. The Championships is the site where athletes, celebrities and royalty converge every year. The 2024 Wimbledon tournament began Monday and concludes on July 14.
