Thunderstorms with torrential rain to hit for some – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and torrential rain will develop in the southwest on Friday afternoon.

There is the potential for hail and lightning which will present additional hazards and in the northwest, central and eastern England there will be some rain.

There will be an unsettled feel to the weather is likely to continue for many on Saturday, with a mix of cloudy skies and some outbreaks of rain or showers.

The cloudiest skies with most frequent but often light rain is in the east of the country while some brighter conditions are likely in the west, though these brighter skies bring the potential for further showers.

The frequency of showers is likely to reduce on Sunday, leaving sunny spells for much of the UK, with temperatures in the south returning to around average for the time of year.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steven Ramsdale said, “The weekend’s weather starts with a continuation of recent days, with an unsettled feel for many.

“Rain will be more frequent in eastern areas, whilst conditions are more showery elsewhere though a good deal of cloud for many.

“However, there’s a drier interlude building in from the west on Sunday which will reduce the frequency of showers compared with previous days and introduce some sunshine for many.

“Temperatures are likely to peak around 22°C in the southeast, which is a return to near average for the time of year after the recent cool spell.
