Newcastle’s train operator, Lumo, recently put its fully electric train service to the test in a unique race to London. Two well-known drag queens from the North East participated, with one traveling by train and the other by plane.

This event was scheduled just before the region’s exciting Pride celebrations. Northern Pride is expected to draw over 80,000 attendees to Newcastle city centre this weekend (19-21 July 2024), followed by a month-long Pride event in Gateshead throughout August. Both events are supported by Lumo, highlighting the company’s dedication to partnerships that benefit local communities.
