Nine children and two adults hospitalised after chlorine leak at London swimming pool

Eleven people, including nine children, have been taken to hospital after a “chlorine leak” at a swimming pool in London.

All three branches of the emergency services alongside hazmat suit-clad officers swarmed to Vale Farm Sports Centre in Vale Farm, Wembley, on Thursday afternoon – which was swiftly evacuated.

Police confirmed that they had been alerted to the noxious chemical just before 2pm – and had rushed to the pool, a stone’s throw from Wembley Stadium – in response.

In the aftermath of the evacuation, Vale Farm Sports Centre’s website warned would-be users the leisure centre was closed “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
