Launching on Thursday 12th with updates on each day of London Fashion Week, the edit allows shoppers to own a piece of fashion history, bringing the essence of London’s style directly into their wardrobes.
On September 12, 2024, as part of eBay’s Pre-Loved Fashion Week, shoppers can get 10% off their pre-loved purchases on-site, including those in the curated edit by using the code “CHIC10”.
Speaking on eBay’s Pre-Loved Fashion Week, Amy Bannerman, eBay’s Pre-Loved Style Director said “Pre-loved fashion is now taking the front row. Curating this show for eBay has been a full-circle moment, allowing me to channel eBay’s spirit of treasure-hunting with 40 years of London’s fashion history. I hope the ability to access incredible British brands through Endless Runway and the curated edit brings people the same joy eBay has brought me for twenty-three years, reminding them of fashion’s ability to endure, reinvent and surprise.”
To help shoppers discover the endless archive of designer fashion online, Amy Bannerman, is also sharing her top tips for finding their next iconic piece:
Go in with a plan: Second-hand shopping can be overwhelming, so have specific items in mind. Get inspired beforehand—whether from catwalks or street style—so you know what to look for. Use the “Saved Searches” feature to keep track of that must-have piece or brand and get a notification when a new item is listed.
Keep an open mind: Even if you’re after a specific jacket, be open to different brands, and cuts – suggested items can help you find something unique but within the same style. The joy of pre-loved shopping is discovering unexpected gems fashion, to help curate your individual style in high-low fashion.
Shop out of season: Beat the bidders, and save money by hunting for winter coats in summer and summer dresses in winter. Off-season shopping means better deals and less competition.
Use the “Best Offer” option: Don’t be afraid to put in an offer! Many sellers will be open to your best price on items—just be respectful with your bids to keep the negotiation friendly.
Talk to the seller: Not sure about an item? Reach out to the seller. They can provide more details, close-up photos, or even negotiate on price with an offer. They’re there to help.
Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council said “We are really excited to partner with eBay on their Endless Runway this London Fashion Week. By making these items accessible on the marketplace, eBay opens the door for a wider audience to explore and appreciate the legacy of London Fashion Week over the past 40 years, proving that authentic designer fashion can be within everyone’s reach.”
