Srisailam Devasthanams gets listed in world book of records London | Amaravati News – Times of India

TIRUPATI: The world renowned Srisailam Devasthanams in Nandyal district, which houses the ancient shrines of Lord Mallikharjuna Swamy and Goddess Brahmarambika Ammavaru, has been listed in the world book of records London.
Ullaji Eliyazar, joint secretary for the world book of records, south region-India, handed over the certificate of recognition under the religion and spirituality category to Srisailam EO D Peddi Raju in the presence of TDP MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy.
According to Ullaji Eliyazar, the recognition was accorded to the ancient Srisailam Devasthanams, in due recognition of Srisailam’s mythological significance as a living embodiment of ancient, spiritual-cultural traditions and values with supreme repository of spiritual truth.
Srisailam EO D Peddi Raju observed that the ancient shrines of Lord Mallikharjuna Swamy and Goddess Brahmarambika Ammavaru are one among the highly revered Dwadasa Jyotirlingas and Astadasa Sakthi peethas in the country.
He also recalled that ancient inscriptions found from the Satavahana dynasty period indicate that the Srisailam temple has been in worship even as early as the 2nd century.
Srisailam legislator Budda Rajasekhar Reddy thanked the representatives of the world book of records London, for according the certificate of recognition for the ancient shrines, which attracts millions of devotees from across the globe annually.
