Emirates unveils new lounge at London Stansted
Emirates has opened a new £4 million premium lounge at London Stansted airport – its sixth dedicated lounge in the UK.
The Dubai-based airline’s new 900 square metre facility at Stansted has a capacity of up to 125 passengers, including first and business class travellers, as well as Emirates Skywards loyalty programme members.
The new Stansted lounge is located in Satellite 1 next to the airport’s departure gates. Facilities include showers, free wifi, drinks and food provided by Sussex-based Full Cirlces Farms, which specialises in offering “farm to table” menus.
Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of airport services, said Stansted was a “very important gateway” for the airline in the UK.
“The new lounge is a testament to our brand promise of always flying customers better – in the air and on the ground,” he added.
Emirates already operates its own lounges at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester airports.
The carrier currently operates 133 weekly flights from Dubai to seven UK airports including a double-daily service from Stansted. Flights between Edinburgh and Dubai are due to restart on 4 November for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
