Lord’s Weather Update: AUS Vs ENG 4th ODI Reduced To 43-Overs Per Side Due To Rain

AUS vs ENG 4th ODI to get a delayed start [@englandcricket/X]

The fourth ODI between Australia and England will get a delayed start due to inclement weather conditions at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The game was supposed to start at 5.00 PM IST, but untimely rain forced the match officials to delay the toss and, hence, the match.

After it stopped raining, the umpired had a quick look at the pitch and outfield. Following the inspection, they found the conditions satisfactory, rescheduling the game at 2.00 PM local time (6.30 PM IST). However, the match has been reduced to 43 overs per side, indicating a fourteen-over loss across both innings. Also, a brighter sky is predicted at Lord’s for the rest of the day, so we can expect a cracking contest between the two sides without any rain interruption.

Australia Vs England 4th ODI Toss Update

Meanwhile, Australia have won the toss and opted to bowl in the fourth ODI against England at Lord’s. The visitors have made three changes to their playing XI from the last game, replacing Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie and Matthew Short with Travis Head, Josh Inglis and Adam Zampa, respectively.

“Change of coin and change of luck I guess. We are going to bowl first. We were outplayed by a couple of good knocks but the series is still alive so it is exciting. We are pretty much all good now. Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa and Travis Head are back. Alex Carey is still in as a batter. Inglis will take the gloves,” Australian captain Mitchell Marsh said during the toss.

On the other hand, England have stuck to their winning combination from the previous match. The hosts have gone with an unchanged XI as they gear up to win this game and stay alive in the series.
