Do NFL players enjoy London experience? NY Jets TE comments

The New York Jets are in London to take on the Minnesota Vikings, marking the Jets’ first game overseas since 2021. For many players, including tight end Tyler Conklin, it is their first time playing in London.

“It’s my first one,” Conklin said of the trip to London to face the Vikings, the team he spent four seasons with. The tight end emphasized that NFL players have mixed feelings about playing in London.

“I have no idea,” Conklin said in response to what he expects on Sunday. “I mean, I’ve heard kind of different things about it. Some people enjoy it and like it. Some people don’t like it as much. But, I mean, it’s my first time, so we’ll find out.”

Conklin later expressed his two main concerns for Sunday’s contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London: “The jet lag and the time change.”

Currently in his fourth season with the Jets, Conklin ranks fourth on the team in receptions (11) and receiving yards (126). Conklin had a career game in the team’s Week 3 win over the division rival New England Patriots, recording a team-high five receptions for a single-game career-high 93 yards.

Conklin and the Jets are poised to take on one of the NFL’s final two undefeated teams this Sunday, driven by a determination to rebound after a tough loss. If the Jets are going to pull out the win, Conklin figures to be a big part of it. Minnesota has had some issues covering tight ends this year, allowing a 106.3 passer rating on throws to the position.
