London Stock Exchange Group fires staff over ‘concerning’ video
The London Stock Exchange Group has fired a US-based employee over a “concerning video” that violated its policy against racism and discrimination.
In a LinkedIn post, the London Stock Exchange Group said it had been made aware of the video, and that the member of staff had been initially suspended while an investigation took place.
After the conclusion investigation, the London Stock Exchange Group decided to terminate the individual’s employment.
“You may be aware of a concerning video shared on social media which featured one of our employees in the US,” the post said.
“The individual involved was initially suspended while we investigated the matter. The investigation has now concluded, and the individual’s employment has been terminated.
“We expect the conduct of our employees to meet a high standard. The London Stock Exchange Group operates a zero-tolerance policy against any form of racism, discrimination, prejudice or harassment.”
The group has not commented on the specific nature of the video, however, comments on the LinkedIn post made reference to the video showing harassment of young black people in Florida.
