The NFL’s 2024 London Series will come to an end in Week 7 as the Patriots take on the Jaguars across the Atlantic Ocean.

While the Munich game between the Giants and Panthers remains on the schedule for Nov. 10 in Germany, Patriots-Jaguars will be the third and final London matchup in 2024 — but for the first time this season, Wembley Stadium will host the game.

The prior two London games, Jets vs. Vikings in Week 5 and Jaguars vs. Bears in Week 6, were played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings and Bears came out with wins, but Jacksonville will now get another crack at a London victory in a different venue.

Where is Wembley Stadium?

Wembley Stadium is directly named after the suburb of London it’s in, Wembley, which is in the northwestern part of the city.

The venue, which is also England’s national football stadium, is around 30 minutes away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the other 2024 NFL London games were played. Wembley Stadium is owned by the Football Association, so it primarily serves as a soccer venue.

However, the NFL does have a history at the venue, including last season’s matchup between the Falcons and Jaguars.

Wembley Stadium capacity

Wembley Stadium has 90,000 seats, a significant total for any sport, and is the second-largest stadium in Europe. For comparison, the largest NFL stadium capacity is the Jets’ and Giants’ MetLife Stadium, which has 82,500 seats.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium holds 62,850 fans, so NFL fans in London should have more room in Sunday’s matchup than the other two prior games.

The highest NFL game attendance in Wembley Stadium was 86,215, which was set in October 2022 in a matchup between the Jaguars and Broncos.

How much did Wembley Stadium cost to build?

Wembley Stadium cost £798 million to build from 2003-007, which is the equivalent of $1.38 billion in the U.S.

The venue first opened in March 2007, and the first NFL game in the stadium was played between the Giants and Dolphins in Oct. 2007.

There are five international NFL games this season, and three have already been played. The Eagles and Packers opened their 2024 seasons in São Paulo, Brazil, while Sunday’s matchup between the Jaguars and Patriots will be the final London matchup.
