Patriots vs. Jaguars final score, results: Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville run over New England in final NFL London game | Sporting News

Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby certainly earned himself more English fans on Sunday. 

Jacksonville ran all over New England in Week 7, picking up a 32-16 victory over the Patriots at Wembley Stadium in the final London game of the season. Bigsby led the way with 118 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as the Jaguars split their international series for 2024. 

Patriots rookie QB Drake Maye and the Patriots got off to a hot start, building a 10-0 early in the second quarter before Jaguars star Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars’ offense came alive to end the first half. Jacksonville scored 22 consecutive points to close out the half, thanks in part to a Bigsby score, a Brian Thomas Jr. TD reception and a Parker Washington punt return for a touchdown. 

The momentum continued into the third quarter, as New England was unable to stop the Jacksonville rushing attack. Between Bigsby, Lawrence and D’Ernest Johnson, Jacksonville ran for 171 yards on the ground. 

With the win, Jacksonville improved to 2-5 on the season, and head coach Doug Pederson may have saved his job in the process. The Jaguars get right back into action next weekend by hosting the Packers in Jacksonville. 

For New England, the losing streak extends to six games and the record falls to 1-6. However, the most important takeaway is that Maye looked comfortable at the NFL level again, throwing for 276 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.

Final: Jaguars 32, Patriots 16

12:19 p.m.: That’s it from London, as the Jaguars run all over the Patriots to pick up a 32-16 win. Jacksonville splits its international series slate, improving to 2-5 on the season, while New England falls to 1-6 on the season.

12:15 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Bigsby runs in from five yards out to pick up his second touchdown of the game, extending the Jags’ lead in the process to 32-16. The Patriots have had no answer to the Jacksonville rushing attack, headlined by Bigsby. 

12:13 p.m.: Turnover on downs. Maye tries to air it out on fourth-and-26, but the attempt falls incomplete. The Jags get the ball at the Pats’ 10-yard line and can run the clock out to end game.

12:08 p.m.: Travon Walker, the Jaguars No. 1 pick in 2022, gets to Maye on third-and-long, coming up with the big sack to stop the Patriots. The two-minute warning hits with the Patriots about to punt it away on fourth-and-26. 

12:02 p.m.: On third down, Lawrence misses an out route to Christian Kirk, and the Jags are forced to punt. New England gets the ball inside its own 15-yard line with less than four minutes to go in regulation, and down by nine points. 

11:57 a.m.: D’Ernest Johnson takes the 17th consecutive running play for the Jaguars across the line to gain, getting into the Patriots’ territory with under six minutes to go. 

11:56 a.m.: Two Bigsy runs and a Lawrence QB sneak move the chain for the Jaguars. The run game for Jacksonville has been phenomenal since the second quarter, and now the team can use it to run out the clock.

11:50 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! The Patriots officially have life. Maye finds K.J. Osborn on a seam route deep, and the two connect on a 22-yard touchdown. The New England rookie QB makes it nine-point game with an impressive drive, but it stays that way as the two-point conversion fails. It’s a nine-point game with 8:22 remaining in the fourth quarter. 

11:48 a.m.: Right after the Henry completion, Maye connects with Kayshon Boutte for a pickup of 33 yards. Just like that, the Pats are at the 17-yard line, showing life on offense for the first time since the first quarter. 

11:46 a.m.: On third-and-8, Maye throws a ball in Henry’s direction over the middle. The tight end goes up and makes the grab, coming up with the 32-yard reception to bring the ball to midfield. 

11:39 a.m.: Turnover on downs. New England’s defense comes up huge to start the fourth quarter. The unit stuffed Bigsby on a rush attempt on third-and-2, forcing a decision by Pederson on fourth-and-1. The Jaguars stay aggressive and go for it, but the Patriots’ defense comes up clutch again, wrapping up Bigsby behind the line of scrimmage. Maye and the offense start at the Pats’ owns six-yard line.

End of third quarter: Jaguars 25, Patriots 10

11:34 a.m.: Three consecutive Tank Bigsby runs gains a total of 29 yards, pushing the Jaguars down to the Patriots’ 23-yard line as the third quarter comes to an end. 

11:32 a.m.: Lawrence uses his legs to move the chains on third down, scrambling for a gain of 11 when he needed eight. It gives Jacksonville a first down from its own 48-yard line. 

11:26 a.m.: Brian Thomas Jr. continues to be a stud for the Jaguars. After a Bigsby one-yard run, Lawrence finds his rookie WR for a gain of 13 yards. Then, on second-and-11, Thomas Jr. gets a seven-yard gain, and that’s followed by a five-yard completion by the rookie for a first down. 

11:23 a.m.: Punt, turnover on downs. Maye nearly throws an awful pick on third down, but it falls incomplete instead. Jaguars CB Tyson Campbell comes inches away from grabbing the attempt to Pats WR K.J. Osborn, with the ball hitting his hands, but failing to haul in the pick. The Patriots are force to punt it away after five offensive plays. 

Jaguars 25, Patriots 10

11:17 a.m.: FIELD GOAL. Lawrence misses Kirk on third-and-goal, and Pederson opts for the points rather than go for it close to the end zone. Little’s short 21-yard attempt is good, and it’s now 25 consecutive points for the Jags. 

11:16 a.m.: Johnson comes through again for the Jaguars, getting the team down to the seven-yard line after a nine-yard run. 

11:13 a.m.: Lawrence and the offense is cooking once again on offense. The Jaguars QB drops a pass to D’Ernest Johnson and the RB takes it 26 yards to New England’s 34-yard line. 

11:10 a.m.: The Jaguars get the ball to start the second half, starting at their 30-yard line. 

End of second quarter: Jaguars 22, Patriots 10

10:53 a.m.: Jacksonville opts to just let the clock run to end the first half, but what a second quarter for Doug Pederson’s crew to close out with the lead. All three units came alive, scoring 22 unanswered points to end the first half up two scores against the Pats. Lawrence was fantastic, with just one incompletion in an incredibly efficient half that resulted in 131 yards and a TD for the Jags QB. 

10:51 a.m.: The Jaguars defense comes through, forcing the third consecutive three-and-out against Maye and the New England offense. Now, Lawrence gets the ball back at the team’s own six-yard line with one timeout and 39 seconds left. 

Jaguars 22, Patriots 10

10:43 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars returner Parker Washington takes Bryce Baringer’s punt and goes 97 yards to the house. It’s been all Jacksonville in the second quarter, with the Jags putting up three touchdowns in the frame. The Jaguars go for the two-point conversation, and a Lawrence completion to Thomas Jr. gives them two more points. 

10:42 a.m.: An incomplete pass by Maye to Jalynn Polk forces a punt for the Jaguars with two minutes left in the half. 

10:40 a.m.: The Patriots get five yards on their first two plays, but a false start penalty on Hunter Henry gives them third-and-10 as the two-minute warning hits in the first half.

10:37 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! The Jaguars take their first lead of the game with a Tank Bigsby 1-yard run. The Jacksonville RB had two carries to get them close to the end zone, and then punched it on on first-and-goal. Cam Little’s extra point is good, and it’s 14-10. 

10:34 a.m.: What a start to the drive for the Jags. Lawrence sends a deep ball to Brian Thomas Jr., and the rookie WR comes up with the catch for a gain of 58 yards. 

10:29 a.m.: Punt, turnover on downs. The Jaguars force the first Patriots punt of the day, as Maye and Co. go three-and-out. Jacksonville starts at its own 18-yard line with seven minutes left in the first half.

10:22 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Lawrence finds Brian Thomas Jr. on a slant over the middle and he’s wide open for the easy touchdown. Jacksonville gets on the board, and it’s a three-point lead for the Pats. 

10:20 a.m.: The Jaguars are moving. A Tank Bigsy run goes for 13 yards and now Jacksonville is knocking on the door, at the seven-yard line. 

10:19 a.m.: Lawrence launches a completion to Christian Kirk over the middle for a gain of 24 yards. A D’Ernest Johnson run goes for another 10 yards, and suddenly, the Jaguars are at the Patriots’ 20-yard line. 

10:16 a.m.: After a reverse run to WR Brian Thomas Jr. goes for a yard, Lawrence is forced to call the team’s first timeout with the play clock about to hit zero. It’s second-and-9 at the Jaguars’ 46-yard line. 

10:15 a.m.: Lawrence starts the Jags’ drive by finding Gabe Davis in the flat and picking up a first down.

10:11 a.m.: FIELD GOAL! After a Maye incompletion on third down, Joey Slye sinks a 41-yard field goal to extend New England’s lead to 10. 

End of first quarter: Patriots 7, Jaguars 0

10:06 a.m.: A neutral zone infraction penalty is called on the Jaguars, and that’s how the first quarter ends. New England begins the second quarter with a first-and-10 at the Jacksonville 30-yard line. 

10:03 a.m.: Maye once again goes to his tight end, finding Henry for a pickup of 12 yards. It’s his fourth catch of the day already, and the Patriots now have a first down at the Jaguars’ 38-yard line. 

9:58 a.m.: Maye shows off his athleticism on third down to move the gains. He doesn’t find any open receivers so he scrambles up the middle for a gain of 15 yards. 

9:53 a.m.: Punt, turnover on downs. A completion to D’Ernest Johnson goes for no gain on third down, and Jacksonville will have to punt. After Logan Cooke’s boot, the Patriots begin at their own 15-yard line. 

9:49 a.m.: Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars start off their drive with back-to-back completions to tight end Evan Engram. An eight-yard reception is followed by a 13-yard completion to get the Jaguars to the Patriots’ 49-yard line.

9:45 a.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Maye finds RB JaMycal Hasty coming out of the backfield and the Patriots back jukes his way to the end zone for a 16-yard score. That’s Maye’s fourth passing touchdown of the season, already doubling backup QB Jacoby Brissett’s count from the first five games of the season,. Joey Slye’s extra point is good, and it’s an early 7-0 lead for New England. 

9:42 a.m.: RB Rhamondre Stevenson rumbles his way for 11 yards on third-and-3 to keep the drive alive for the Patriots. New England is down to the Jacksonville 16-yard line. 

9:39 a.m.: New England RB Antonio Gibson takes a dump-off pass on second-and-12 and gains nine yards on the play, but he does down to the turf with an injury. 

9:37 a.m.: Maye finds tight end Hunter Henry on second-and-10 for a gain of 18 yards. The Patriots have already worked their way to the Jaguars’ 34-yard line. 

9:35 a.m.: On third-and-3, Maye hits WR DeMario Douglas for his second catch of the game and it moves the chains, giving the Patriots a new set of downs at their own 48-yard line. 

9:33 a.m.: The Patriots get the ball to begin the first half. Returner Antonio Gibson is pushed out at the New England 32-yard line, and that’s where Drake Maye and the offense will start.

9:33 a.m.: LOTS of teal flags being waived in the crowd at Wembley Stadium, showing the support for Jaguars, who are the “home team” in this matchup. 

9:28 a.m.: The Jaguars are coming off a blowout loss to the Bears last week in London, getting off to a rocky start to their stay in England. Jacksonville’s defense was lit up by Caleb Williams to the tune of four touchdowns in a 35-16 loss. 

9:25 a.m.: Drake Maye and the Pats are hoping to build off his solid starting debut in the Week 6 loss to the Texans. Despite not picking up the win, there was a lot to like out of the rookie QB, who immediately sparked life in the Pats’ passing game with three touchdowns through the air. 

9:15 a.m.: The Jaguars are playing in their second consecutive London game this week after falling to the Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Week 6. The Patriots get their first and only taste of international action this Sunday. 

New England is 3-1 in international games, with its lone loss being last season against Indianapolis in Germany. Jacksonville sits at 6-6 in global games. 

9 a.m.: Here are the inactives for today’s London game. No surprises on either side entering play on Sunday, but no Travis Etienne Jr. is something to monitor for Jacksonville’s rushing game. Tank Bigsby could be in for a big day of work.
