It’s finally happening! The reality TV gods have answered our prayers and we are officially getting The Real Housewives of London. Sorry, but we’re going to need a minute to recover from this major news.

The exciting announcement was shared over the weekend at Hayu FanFest, which saw Hayu stars such as Lisa Barlow, Sutton Stracke, Jessel Taank and Ashley Darby in attendance, and it will be the first Hayu original series.

So what is there to know about The Real Housewives of London? Here’s your 101.

When was The Real Housewives of London confirmed?

On Saturday 26th October 2024, at the Hayu FanFest in London it was announced that The Real Housewives of London is officially in the works. The announcement was of course met with intense applause and cheering from the crowd.

Hendrik McDermott, managing director of Hayu and EMEA Networks and international direct-to-consumer at NBCUniversal, said of the announcement: “Tonight’s announcement of The Real Housewives of London is Hayu’s first ever commission of an original series and yet another key milestone in the growth story of our all-reality streaming service.

“It makes sense that such an iconic location in the UK – a core Hayu market – would feature into our strategy to further amplify our offering with original content that super-serves loyal fans. We look forward to being the exclusive home of this latest instalment in the wildly popular The Real Housewives franchise.”

The series will be the first original show from Hayu, and will be produced in partnership with Monkey, the team behind Made in Chelsea.

Longtime Real Housewives fans will know there was originally a Real Housewives-esque show based in London called Ladies of London, which ran for three seasons from 2014 to 2017 and starred The Real Housewives of Dubai cast member Caroline Stanbury.

Who is going to be in The Real Housewives of London?

Right now the official line-up is yet to be confirmed, with Hayu revealing they are currently in the process of casting.

Since the news was announced, Real Housewives fans have been sharing their dream casting on social media, with many calling for the return of the original Ladies of London cast.

When can we expect The Real Housewives of London to launch?

As of yet an official release date has not been confirmed, however, production for the new series is expected to take part in the first part of 2025 and the show is then set to premiere at some point next year.
