EcoWorld London submits revised plans for football stadium redevelopment
EcoWorld London has submitted revised proposals for the redevelopment of Griffin Park, the former home of Brentford Football Club.
The company implemented planning permission for a development on the site in 2021, which would have delivered 75 private homes, but following further consultation with the local community, council, and architect HTA Design, the revised plans will enable the delivery of 149 homes of a more diverse mix and tenure, including 30 affordable homes.
The plans also include the creation of 1,770 sq m of public green space and improved connectivity in the area through the introduction of landscaped, pedestrianised routes throughout the neighbourhood.
Gregor Mitchell, senior director at EcoWorld London, said: “We know how much Griffin Park means to the local community and to Brentford FC fans everywhere and we firmly believe that our updated plans will honour the legacy of the old stadium whilst delivering housing and public space that is much-needed by the local community.
“We are proud to be delivering Griffin Park as part of our wider development of the Gtech Community Stadium and surrounding residential phases. Following the delivery of the stadium, and over 1,000 homes to date across the borough, we are looking forward to continuing to work with Hounslow Council, local residents and Bees supporters to make this enhanced design a reality.”
