The Ukrainian investment fund Roosh Ventures has invested in Toothio, a U.S.-based startup addressing the shortage of dental professionals. The news was shared by Serhiy Tokarev, co-founder and partner of Roosh Ventures, on LinkedIn.

“You know how challenging it can be to find qualified professionals to join your team, regardless of the industry. But for dental practices in the U.S., the challenge is even greater: 95% of them report difficulties in recruiting and retaining staff,” Tokarev says.

Toothio offers private dental clinics and dental service organizations access to a reliable database of over 30,000 qualified dental professionals. Using a proprietary software algorithm, the platform matches clinics with recommended professionals who have available shifts nearby. The system demonstrates efficiency with an impressive 97% vacancy fill rate, helping clinics optimize their workflows and maintain high standards of patient care.

“As a result, dental clinics can simplify and optimize their operations, professionals gain greater flexibility, and patients benefit from faster appointments,” Serhiy Tokarev adds.

In total, Toothio raise an additional $5 million in funding. The round was led by nvp capital and Craft Ventures, with participation from Roosh Ventures (Ukraine), Rho Capital, Marketplace Capital, Burst Capital, Revere Partners, Karman Ventures, Az Crown, and Connexa Capital.

The latest funding and expansion into new markets come amid Toothio’s rapid growth. In 2024 alone, over 15,000 new dental professionals joined the platform.

“That’s why we at Roosh Ventures are thrilled to support Toothio in its development and scaling. Since its founding in 2021, the startup has grown by 300% annually, and we believe there is more to come!” Serhiy Tokarev says.

The company also announced its expansion into eight additional U.S. markets: Chicago, Los Angeles, San Jose, Portland, Seattle, Baltimore, Charlotte, and Orlando.
