The Cure Confirm New ‘Songs Of A Live World Troxy London MMXXIV’ Concert LP | News | Clash Magazine Music News, Reviews & Interviews
The Cure have outlined plans for a new concert album – with all proceeds going to charity.
The legendary British band returned earlier this year, sharing their album ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ to critical acclaim. In the CLASH review, Sam Walker-Smart wrote:
With ‘Songs Of A Lost World,’ The Cure has not only produced something worth the wait but added another classic to their already sterling catalogue. This is a late-career gem from one of the world’s most idiosyncratic acts.
Alongside the release, The Cure recorded a special broadcast for the BBC, before playing a one-off London show at the Troxy.
Running through the album in full, alongside some much-cherished favourites, The Cure were on regal form as their new LP raced to No. 1 on the charts.
Thankfully, the experience was caught on tape, with new concert album ‘Songs Of A Live World Troxy London MMXXIV’ arriving later this year.
Out on December 13th, The Cure’s royalties will benefit War Child (https://www.warchild.org.uk).
The live recording will be available on 1CD and 1LP, as part of a 2CD, 2MC & 2LP set with the original album (on clear vinyl). In addition ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ will also be available as a ‘Blood Red Moon Edition’ as a single blood red vinyl and a 2LP set featuring the album and for the first time on vinyl, the instrumental version of the record.
