AI investment due diligence platform Capsa scores £1.7m
A London-based AI startup has secured a seven-figure funding round as it builds out its technology to automate business compliance work.
Kings Cross-based Capsa AI secured the £1.7 m round as part of its mission replace what it describes as the “manual, low-skill” compliance tasks for investors at private equity funds.
These tasks include creating company profiles, consolidating financial information from company records, analysing financial performance and reviewing customer contracts.
“Capsa AI has received such a positive reaction from investors and customers alike because we are using AI to address a clear and pressing challenge in one of the world’s biggest industries,” said Capsa co-founder Danyal Özdüzenciler.
“We are already driving productivity and efficiency in major PE firms and I have every confidence that we can build a product which will transform collaboration, knowledge sharing and decision-making in private equity and private capital worldwide.”
Özdüzenciler spent more than six years in private equity and investment banking at firms including Citi, Deutsche Bank and AEA Investors.
The funding round was led by Outward VC and included participation from Cornerstone VC and Antler.
“With private markets experiencing tremendous growth over the past decade, the volume and complexity of data for due diligence has grown exponentially,” said Outward VC principal Sanchit Dhote.
“Capsa is at the forefront of driving the adoption of AI technologies in the PE industry. We are confident that Capsa AI will become the essential infrastructure for managing private assets.”
Additional funding came from a handful of angels in fintech and private equity.
