Anya Taylor-Joy Wears an Olive Green Blazer Minidress to ‘Furiosa’ Photocall in London
On Saturday, Anya Taylor-Joy wore a chic olive green minidress with a blazer cut to the London photocall for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The dress was wrapped tightly around her body by a large corset belt in black and brown leather with an oversized gold buckle.
The overall look was given an even edgier feel with the inclusion of black platform heels covered in silver studs and thick black straps around the ankles. The star had her bleached blonde hair back in a tight bun and wore a smokey eye with a pink lip.
The film premiered in London on Friday, and Taylor-Joy wore a black bodysuit with a ruffled off-the-shoulder neckline and sheer black tights. Around her neck was a three-tier chain of diamonds and she wore matching jewels in her ears.
The movie stars Taylor-Joy across from Chris Hemsworth, and the event was attended by his brothers Liam and Luke, as well as Liam’s girlfriend, model Gabriella Brooks. The couple were very affectionate on the red carpet.
The actress plays the character Furiosa, who was played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road; this story takes place 15 to 20 years before the events of that film. Furiosa faces off against a warlord leader named Dementus, played by Hemsworth.
In a recent interview on The One Show, the actors revealed that a specific fight scene took 78 days to film, which is about what most full-length Hollywood films take in their entirety.
“We shot it for 78 days, 78 days!” the star said. “Yes. It’s called Stowaway. It was 100 per cent the mountain we were all trying to climb.”
Her character has few lines in the script even though she is the titular star. Taylor-Joy commented on how that influenced her performance.
“You know what’s crazy is I was never concerned about the lack of dialogue as you said, it made a lot of sense for the character so I was like ‘Yeah yeah I’ve got this,’” she explained. “But George [Miller] also had a very strict idea of how he wanted me to hold my face for a large portion of the film so when you say I only had my eyes it was really just this.”
She added, “I do think there’s an element where like it intensified the situation because I’m sure she wants to talk about what’s going on in her life but she’s just surviving. So yeah I think it gave it that fire.”
