Malayalam actor-rapper Neeraj Madhav, who is currently on a concert tour of the UK, has announced that he will be cutting short his performance tour and will be heading back to India.
The actor has chosen to cut short the tour, citing alleged acts of unprofessionalism and mismanagement on the part of the organizers of the tour.
How It Started
The organisers of the tour, Blackjack Events, took to their social media pages to announce that they had decided to replace Neeraj Madhav with another artiste for the Manchester and Coventry shows.
Their statement read, “Dear All, Purposefully Neeraj Madhav did not perform at the London stage as planned. Despite our efforts to schedule his performance and inform his managers, he failed to respond on the scheduled day. This unfortunate incident has damaged our company’s credibility and resulted in significant financial losses. As a consequence, we are unable to schedule him for any future events. Consequently, we have made the decision to replace him with another artist for the Manchester and Coventry shows, as originally planned. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Neeraj Madhav’s Statement
On Thursday, Neeraj Madhav posted a picture of himself at the airport, indicating that he was exiting the UK.
The actor also posted an explanation regarding the situation over a few text slides that were posted along with the picture.
In the statement, he lambasted the organisers, Blackjack Events London, for their purportedly unprofessional conduct, even citing instances of physical assault on the night of his concert in Dublin.
He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that we must address the recent unfortunate events surrounding our involvement with Blackjack Pvt Ltd based in London. We feel compelled to share our side of the story to ensure transparency and to shed light on the unprofessional conduct exhibited by the event organizers.
“Throughout our interactions with the event organisers, we encountered numerous challenges and frustrations. Despite our best efforts to collaborate and overcome obstacles, we were met with disrespect, verbal abuse, derogatory language.
“These actions culminated in a heated altercation on the night of the event in Dublin, during which derogatory terms were directed towards our team including myself and our manager and even attempted physical attacks. If it was not for the people gathered around, we would’ve got hurt.
“As a result of this unacceptable behavior, we made the difficult decision to withdraw from further participation in the tour. We could not in good conscience continue to subject ourselves to such mistreatment and disrespect. We firmly believe in upholding professional standards and maintaining a positive working environment, which unfortunately was not upheld by the organizers (sic)”
The actor further accused the organizers of failing to make arrangements for their return trip, leaving him stranded in London with “lack of consideration and disregard for our well-being.”
