Dalata Hotel Group reveals plans for sixth hotel in London

Dublin-based hotel company Dalata Hotel Group has announced plans for its sixth property in London, which will take its room count in the UK capital to more than 1,000 rooms.

Dalata, which runs brands such as Maldron and Clayton Hotels, said it has secured a 25-year lease for a new four-stay Clayton property in Old Broad Street in the City of London.

The new hotel, which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2028 subject to securing planning permission, will include 154 rooms, alongside a restaurant, bar and gym.

Dalata said it will be an “all electric” building using heat pump technology and will seek to secure a BREEAM “excellent” accreditation for the sustainability of the development.

The move is part of a major expansion by the company in the UK, including the recent opening of Maldron Hotel Shoreditch in London.

Shane Casserly, deputy CEO of Dalata Hotel Group, said: “We are excited to expand our footprint in London, with this transaction illustrating the flexibility of our business model as we deliver further growth through leasing, as well as acquisition and development.

“As part of our Vision 2030, London continues to be a key target city for Dalata, and we believe significant opportunity exists for both our Clayton and Maldron brands.”
