Delta will launch seasonal winter service in October between Orlando and London Heathrow.
The four-times weekly route will operate from Oct. 26 through March 30 using an Airbus A330-900 with business, premium economy and economy cabins.
The Delta flights will complement the service already offered between Orlando and London by Delta joint-venture partner Virgin Atlantic. Virgin will operate its flight daily through the winter months, Cirium flight schedule data shows, after tapering down from its summer schedule of twice-daily flights.
No other airlines fly Orlando-Heathrow.
Orlando will be Delta’s eighth gateway to London and the airline’s lone gateway to London from Florida.
New Minneapolis-Caribbean routes announced
Delta also announced twice-weekly winter service connecting its Minneapolis-St. Paul hub to Aruba and St. Maarten.
Minneapolis-to-St. Maarten will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays from Dec. 19 until April 12. Minneapolis-to-Aruba will fly on Fridays and Sundays from Dec. 20 until April 20.
Both routes will be operated with two-cabin Boeing 757-200s. Delta will be the lone carrier in both city pairs, according to Cirium data.
