Drake London catches game-winning TD on Monday Night Football
The Atlanta Falcons stunned the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 of the NFL season. Atlanta walked away with a 22-21 victory on Monday Night Football. Kirk Cousins led a game-winning drive, taking the team 70 yards in 1:05. He threw a touchdown pass to Drake London to tie the game at 21 with 34 seconds left. The extra point lifted the Falcons to a shocking win. Atlanta trailed 18-15 with under two minutes left and no timeouts. The Eagles just needed to convert a 3rd and 3 from the Atlanta 10, but Saquon Barkley dropped a pass which would have converted the third down and essentially ended the game. The Eagles then chose to kick a field goal for a 21-15 lead instead of going for a first down to win the game. Atlanta and Drake London made sure Philadelphia paid a price for those mistakes.
After the Falcons took the lead, Eagle quarterback Jalen Hurts threw an interception to Jessie Bates and eventually gave the Falcons their first win of the season.
Cousins went 20-of-29 for 241 yards and two touchdowns in the win for the Falcons.
London was quiet for most of the game but ended up with 6 receptions, 54 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Atlanta Falcons are 1-1 with tons of momentum on their side, but they have another tall task as they play the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Sunday Night Football on NBC at 8:20 p.m Eastern on Sept. 22.
