Passengers catching a train this Christmas Eve have been warned of disruption on services between London Waterloo and Guildford.
It comes after emergency works to repair the earthworks in the Clandon area are blocking all lines until the end of the day.
This means South Western Railway trains have to run on a revised schedule and services might be cancelled. Horsley, Clandon and London Road Guildford stations will not be served at all.
Elsewhere, traffic on the M62 ground to a halt earlier today after horses broke free from a nearby field and ran wild on the motorway. Drivers have since been released and traffic has resumed to normal.
Elsewhere on the UK’s road network, drivers have been caught in traffic delays on the M4 near Bristol this morning after a police incident.
Overnight snow on the M62 caused disruption at the weekend, and while more is likely to fall throughout December, it is not expected to cause any serious traffic problems today.

Passengers between Waterloo and Guildford told to check before travel
South Western Railway passengers have been advised to check their journeys beforehand after emergency engineering works have blocked all lines between London Waterloo and Guildford.
An issue with the earthworks in the Clandon area was reported in the early hours of the morning and trains in the area have been suspended until the end of the day.
Now trains are running on a revised schedule between Waterloo and Effingham Junction, while some services will be diverted between Waterloo and Guildford. There could be some cancellations too.

A crash in Dagenham, east London, is causing congestion on the A13 near Scrattons Farm.
Two lanes out of three eastbound have been blocked after the smash between A1153 Lodge Avenue and A1306 Goresbrook Interchange.
Update after horses break free on the M62
Traffic has now been released in both directions on the M62 after the horses managed to break out of a nearby field.
It is thought the animals were unhurt when they were caught and moved back into the field.
Traffic stops both ways on the M62 after escaped horses
Escaped animals are causing grey hairs to motorists on the M62.
Horses managed to get on the busy motorway westbound between J22 (Saddleworth) and J21 (Milnrow) outside Rochdale.
Traffic has temporarily stopped in both directions so that the animals can be taken to safety.
Drivers said on social media they saw two horses before they were taken back behind a fence, with one saying some traffic has now been released..

Drivers have been warned of delays on the M4 outside Bristol after a police incident.
Traffic has stopped on the M4 in both directions due to the incident between junctions J18 and J19.

30-minute delays on London trains after blocked railway
A faulty train is wreaking havoc on journeys towards London after it got stuck on the southbound line between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central.
London Euston-bound Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services will divert via Northampton until at least 9am until the issue is resolved.
This means journeys will take 30 minutes longer than usual.
If your journey is delayed, you could claim compensation or delay repay through the train operator.
Disruption on trains between Stevenage and King’s Cross

A broken rail is causing minor delays on services between Stevenage and London King’s Cross, a key route for trains between London and Edinburgh.
Trains face delays of up to 10 minutes and the issue is expected to be resolved by 12pm, National Rail said.
