England plan bus parade around London next week as Three Lions eye Euro glory

Football is on the brink of coming home with England reaching the final of Euro 2024 and a celebratory parade is already being planned.

The Three Lions booked their place in the showpiece on Wednesday night thanks to Ollie Watkins’ stoppage-time winner against the Netherlands.

It means Gareth Southgate’s side are now only one win away from lifting their first major international trophy since 1966.

If they manage to do it, it’s going to be a historic occasion and one that will see mass celebration when they return home from Germany.

Here, talkSPORT.com provides all the details on England’s potential bus parade…

England’s bus parade: Date and timings

There is an open-top bus parade scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, talkSPORT understands.

Official timings are yet to be confirmed but will be announced as soon as possible if the Three Lions beat Spain.

Should they win the final on Sunday, the squad are set to travel home and meet the new Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Downing Street on Monday.

They would also likely meet with Prince William, who is the president of the FA, on the same day.

King Charles and other members of the Royal Family are expected to honour the England squad at Buckingham Palace at the end of their parade.

There are expected to be millions of fans lining the streets for the event

England’s bus parade: Where will it be?

Reports claim the parade is set to begin at Guildhall in London and end at Buckingham Palace via Trafalgar Square.

A finish at Buckingham Palace would replicate the England rugby squad that celebrated their World Cup success in 2003.

They travelled through Trafalgar Square and ended up meeting Queen Elizabeth II at the Palace to end the parade.

The most recent celebratory parade through London was with Team GB as they celebrated an incredible 2012 Olympics.

That route began at Mansion House and passed St. Paul’s Cathedral before travelling along The Strand and through Trafalgar Square.

The bus then went down The Mall and finished at the Queen Victoria Monument with a celebration occurring outside the Palace.

England’s football team could take a similar route if they end 58 years of hurt this Sunday night.
