England v Australia Fourth ODI, Latest Weather Updates: What’s The Rain Forecast At Lord’s? | ENG vs AUS 2024

The fourth ODI between England and Australia could be affected by rain: here’s the latest rain forecast at Lord’s.

The fourth ODI between England and Australia is set to take place at Lord’s today (September 27), with the hosts in a must-win situation after being 2-1 down in the five-match series. With a resounding 46-run win in a rain-affected game in Chester-le-Street, the England team will look to pick up from where they left off during the fourth ODI.

Australia, who were put in to bat first, amassed 304-7, courtesy of half-centuries by Alex Carey and Steve Smith, and complemented by a quickfire 44 off 26 from Aaron Hardie. In reply, England scored 254-4 in 37.4 overs, thanks to an unbeaten knock of 110 off 94 by Harry Brook. Will Jacks also chipped in with a well-made 84 off 82. The match was brought to a close due to rain and England were ahead by 47 runs as per the DLS system.

What is the weather forecast for the fourth ENG vs AUS ODI at Lord’s?

The match is set to begin at 12:30pm local time and the possibility of having another rain-affected match seems likely. Given the amount of showers in London over the last couple of days, the wicket might assist the seamers, and the captains might look to bowl first again.

According to AccuWeather’s forecast, there could be showers around 12pm with 73 percent precipitation. It is expected to remain overcast during the day until clear skies at 7pm.

BBC Weather predicts light showers from 11am to 2pm and again at 4pm. It is likely to be sunny from 5pm onwards, and clear skies after 7pm.

As per Weather.com, there could be light rain from 11am to 2pm with over 95 per cent cloud cover. It is expected to stay cloudy until 3pm and partly cloudy until 9pm.

UPDATE (2pm local time)

After the rain initially subsided, a toss took place at 1:30pm with the intention of a 2pm start for what would have been a 43-over-a-side fixture. Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first but just as the players were set to walk onto the field, another shower fell above the ground.

According to AccuWeather, the rain is set to stop at around 2:30pm leaving open the possibility of a start around 3pm. There is around a 30-40 per cent chance of rain later in the afternoon while forecasts for the evening have become clearer.
