Luxor, Egypt, renowned for its colossal historical temples, the nearby Valley of the Kings, and impressive stone statues, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. Travelers now have more convenient access to this region thanks to a newly introduced flight route from low-cost carrier easyJet, providing direct flights from London Gatwick Airport.

Starting on November 11, 2024, the new route will feature flights departing London (LGW) at 9:05 am and arriving at Luxor International Airport (LXR) at 4:25 pm, with a total flight duration of five hours and twenty minutes.

Travel + Leisure reported round-trip fares on this new route starting at just $244 in easyJet’s ‘Standard’ class, which includes one small cabin bag. Additional fees apply for carry-on and checked baggage. Tickets for this route are available for booking from November through March 2025 on easyJet’s website.

Additionally, easyJet will launch a new service to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt on February 14, 2025. With these new routes, easyJet claims to offer more seats to Egypt from the United Kingdom than any other airline. Frequent travelers to the region appreciate the new route for reducing travel time.

In 2023, Luxor was named one of T+L Readers’ 10 Favorite Cities in Africa and the Middle East.
