“The New Year is the perfect time for a fresh start. More people are ready to take control of their health and fitness whether in the gym, in their home or local park.”

“Whether it’s setting a goal to run your first 5km or building strength in the gym, January provides a unique opportunity to reset and focus on self-improvement.”

“As we approach the new year many people are using this time to reset and commit to a healthier lifestyle. It’s important to start with realistic and actionable steps”

Be Specific and Set Measurable Goals

“It is easy to give yourself unrealistic goals and expectations. Start by defining exactly what you want to achieve, for example, running 5km in under 30 minutes is achievable yet challenging.  Metrics such as metres run, and time spent exercising make your goals achievable based on your current fitness level and lifestyle.”

 Track progress

“There are a variety of apps, journals and fitness trackers that you can use to monitor your improvements and stay motivated through the setbacks. Everyone is on their own fitness journey.”

Celebrate Milestones and Consistency

“Reward yourself for not only meeting goals but also being consistent and showing up.”

 Seek Professional Guidance

“The gym is full of experts who can guide you through your fitness journey and give you valuable advice on nutrition and tailored workout plans to work out how to get the best from your gym routine.”
