Flow Power announces new EV super highway
Australian energy retailer Flow Power is making a splash, recently announcing its partnership with UK based EV charging operators Gridserve to enter the fast EV charging market and create an ambitious “Flow Power Highway” in a new national network.
The company’s new partner already services 250,000 EVs or about 6 million kilowatt hours of zero-emission a month electricity a month the company said in media statements.
London based Waugh Thistleton Architects expands in Australia
Melbourne-based Studio Kristen Whittle is partnering with Waugh Thistleton Architects to form a joint venture, allowing the latter to undertake sustainability-focused projects in Australia.
Bosses Kristen Whittle and Andrew Waugh said the alliance was designed to promote the use of clean, green mass timber technology in meeting decarbonisation goals of the building industry across the road. The two stated that the combined design expertise was needed to solve Australia’s housing crisis. The two would bring prefabricated systems to large-scale urban regeneration projects with a “speed to market, community-centric” agenda.
Standards Australia appoints new CEO
Rod Balding has been appointed the new chief executive of Standards Australia. Balding is a partner and its national finance services assurance leader for markets and growth at Big 4 consulting firm PwC, where he has worked for more than 16 years.
Balding currently also holds a handful of other roles in sports organisations, including chair of the nominations committee at Basketball Australia, non-executive director at International Basketball Federation’s Women’s Basketball World Cup local organising committee, as well as a member of the club licensing appeals body at Football Australia.
His commencement date is yet to be announced.
