Are you looking for a fun way to raise money for your favorite charity? Did you miss the London Marathon and are kicking yourself?

Not to worry! In the UK, there are dozens of charity runs set to take place over the coming months, even leading into the new years, and range from hikes to marathons to runs. These are a great way to stay in shape and, of course, to raise cash and fundraise for the charity of your choice.

So, read on for the top four destinations around the UK to go to if you want to raise money and keep yourself fit!

Jurassic Coast Hike

If you live in the area of Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset, it may well be worth taking part in the Jurassic Coast hike.

This hike, which is usually about 95 miles, is world famous, and for many people, this hike is a fun way to raise money for the charity of their choice. Based on the terrain of this area, it is suitable for those who are new to hiking as well as professional hikers. However, it is advised that everybody travels in at least a pair, as parts of the hike can be a bit treacherous.

London Marathon

If you aren’t looking to take part in a charity event until 2025, then it is well worth looking at the London Marathon for a way to raise money for your favorite charity. At the current time, the London Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, April 27th, and plays host to a range of fund-raising options from Macmillan Cancer Research to Alzheimer’s. You can sign up for this online, but make sure you do so via the charity entry listings on the official London Marathon website.

Cornwall Coast

Next is the marathon that takes place on the Cornwall coast.

This route is linked to the Cornwall 10K as well as the Cornwall 1/2 marathon. There is even the ‘Man vs Coast; 25 mile run on the Cornwall coastline, which features natural obstacle challenges, such as wading through the sea and hiking up pretty steep hills and slopes! This is a great way to make a difference, as this also allows charity runners to take part in fundraising. Plus, it’s a great way to see the beautiful Cornwall coast.

Loch Ness Marathon

If you live in Scotland or have always wanted to visit Scotland to take part in a marathon, then look no further than the Loch Ness Marathon. This typically takes place in autumn, and in 2024, it is set to take place on September the 29th. Much like the Cornwall Coast, the Loch Ness Marathon features 10 K and 5K runs and attracts amateurs and professionals worldwide. It also allows charity runners and can be a very fun way for you to raise money for your favorite charity while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Who knows; you may even see Nessie popping their head out of the Loch as you jog by!

GLOW Birmingham

If you are someone who has been affected by poor mental health, or you love someone who has, then you may be looking for a charity events that cater specifically to helping mental health charities.

GLOW Birmingham is a night time walk, which usually takes place in September, and is a walk which offers a unique way to raise money for mental health charities, with the main one being Mental Health UK. As the name suggests, in order to be seen on the city streets, and just for fun, those who take part in this walk are advised to wear glow sticks. Just make sure that, if you are taking part, that you sign up beforehand, as this is a very popular event!

Scotland Triathlon

Heading back to Scotland, there is the option to take part in a triathlon at the end of 2024.

There is the Craggy Island Triathlon, which starts at the Kerrera Marina. This triathlon includes a 600m swim, a 16km bike course, and an 8.5km trail run. Therefore, you have to be in pretty good shape and, as it is in winter, you need to make sure you have all the right equipment with you to stay safe and warm.

It should also be noted that, even though this seems like a tough option to raise money for charity, it gets booked quickly. So, be sure that you are signed up to start raising money for the charity of your choice in this rather interesting obstacle course!
