Hanwell: Man dies from gunshot injury after ‘altercation’

A murder investigation has been launched after a 20-year-old man died from a gunshot injury following an “altercation” in west London, the Met Police has said.

Officers were called at about 2:10 BST on Sunday to reports of a shooting on Templeman Road in Hanwell.

They found Sebastiaan James-Kraan with a gunshot injury and he died in hospital on Wednesday.

Det Ch Insp Wayne Jolley said detectives believe the victim was involved in an “altercation with a group of men” and was shot once.

In a statement, Mr James-Kraan’s family said said he had been “cruelly taken away from his family at such a young age”.

“He was a kind, loving, gentle man with a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.

“A gentle giant with a heart of pure gold,” they added.

No arrests have been made and a post-mortem examination is due to take place next week.

DCI Jolley said: “I would like to speak to any witnesses who heard or saw anything in the Templeman Road area at around 02:00hrs on Sunday, 9 June.”
