Junior doctors in England are set to strike in the weeks leading up to the general election over the long-running dispute over pay.
Recently talks had reopened with the government to end the pay dispute with medics who are in training.
The British Medial Association (BMA) gave the government a warning, they have a “final opportunity to make an offer and avoid strikes,” this opportunity “has not been taken up.”
From 7am on 27 June and on 2 July junior doctors in England will walkout the BMA announced.
Dr Robert Laurenson and Dr Vivek Trivedi, the co-chairmen of the BMA junior doctors committee, said in a statement, “We made clear to the Government that we would strike unless discussions ended in a credible pay offer.”
