King Charles III records ‘not involved in London Clinic information breach’

There are now three staff members at a London hospital being investigated over allegedly trying to access Royal medical records.

News broke yesterday details surrounding what procedure the Princess of Wales had at the London Clinic in January were reportedly accessed, but there were also concerns King Charles III’s private health records were also accessed.

Both he and his daughter-in-law were hospitalised earlier this year for cancer treatment and abdominal surgery respectively, but the Palace has been vague in what those procedures were.

Daily Mirror UK Royal Editor Russell Myers broke the news of the hospital breach yesterday and he confirmed with Today this morning the King’s medical records have not been accessed, according to investigators.

“I can reveal that he has not been subject to that breach, so certainly Buckingham Palace will probably be breathing a sigh of relief that they’re not involved in this situation,” Russell said.

While Scotland Yard are yet to confirm if they are also looking into the incident, Russell said the Information Commissioner’s Office – which is overseeing the investigation – have jurisdiction and could still launch criminal action.

“This is a criminal matter, to access anyone’s details like this could end up with someone in the courts,” Russell said.

The Palace has remained tight-lipped over the scandal, but Russell said, no doubt, they want it investigated to the full extent.

“You can only imagine what Kate is going through at the moment, she was supposed to be recovering at home and this will be pretty stressful for her,” he said.
