Emerge! Fashion Group NYC Presents its anticipated “Unveil Fashion Runway Show” During London Fashion Week

Showcasing emerging designers of African & Caribbean descent

London, UK – August 9th, 2024 – Emerge! Fashion Group LLC is excited to announce the inaugural “Unveil Fashion Runway Show,” making its debut during London Fashion Week on September 16, 2024. After 13 successful years of showcasing emerging designers at New York Fashion Week, Emerge! is bringing its celebrated platform to London to highlight the talents of designers of African and Caribbean descent.

The Unveil Fashion Show is not only about celebrating fashion but also about underscoring the importance of supporting Black emerging designers in the industry. These designers bring unique perspectives and creativity that enrich the fashion world, and it is crucial to provide them with opportunities to shine on a global stage.

The Unveil Fashion Show will also present the coveted Fashion Innovator Award, recognising individuals who have made significant contributions to fashion. Past recipients of the Fashion Innovator Award include luminaries such as Fashion Icon Andre’ Leon Talley; model Pat Cleveland; model Beverly Johnson; creator of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis; Godfather of Urban Streetwear Karl Kani; Style Architect Misa Hylton; Celebrity stylist Law Roach; legendary designer Dapper Dan; luxury women’s wear designer Sergio Hudson, and numerous other fashion icons.

Dionne Williams, creator and producer of Emerge! Fashion Show, expressed her excitement for this milestone event: “Bringing Emerge! to London is a significant step in our mission to celebrate and support emerging designers from diverse backgrounds. Partnering with the Wearable Arts Collective allows us to spotlight the vibrant talent within the African and Caribbean communities. This show is about more than fashion-it’s about heritage, culture, and the future of design.”

In collaboration with the London-based Wearable Arts Collective, which promotes and celebrates African designers, the Unveil Fashion Show aims to elevate and support these talented individuals.

Lola Owolabi from the Wearable Arts Collective shared her thoughts: “Joining forces with Emerge! Fashion Show is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the rich and diverse creativity of African and Caribbean designers. This collaboration is a testament to the power of unity and cultural celebration in fashion.”

The Fashion Style Award will be presented to Sabrina Dhowre Elba for her exceptional work as a model, beauty business mogul, and actress, further highlighting the influence and impact of Black professionals in the industry.

The Unveil Fashion Show will feature emerging designers, including:

Korto Momolu: A Liberian-born designer making waves with her fashion-forward women’s wear and global brand presence.

Tremaine Pollydore of Maine Attraction by Tpolly Designs: Known for creating dramatic and eye-catching apparel, including capes and intricately draped garments.

Ty Brooks of Ty Brooks Designs: Men and women clothing brand which produces transformative designs.

Giovanni’s Clothing: Luxury athletic wear and streetwear redefining boundaries by merging high-end fashion with unparalleled functionality.
