London New Year’s Eve firework display tickets go on sale
It is the first of two batches of tickets to go on sale, the next lot of tickets will go on sale nearer the time.
Tickets for some viewing areas have more than doubled – from £20 to £50 – for the 12-minute display.
The mayor’s office said the price increase was to comply with Martyn’s Law, external, created following the Manchester Arena attack in 2017.
The reforms require venues with a capacity of more than 200 to have a plan in place in case of an attack on their premises.
City Hall has said they are working closely with the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, local authorities and the emergency services to make the event compliant with the new rules.
Those who are unable to secure a ticket can welcome in the new year elsewhere around London, or watch the display live on BBC One.
