London takes top spot in best city 2025 award, but where does Bangkok fall?

London has been crowned the Best City in the World for the tenth consecutive year in 2025, while Singapore ranks fifth. Where did Bangkok rank? Not in the top 10.

London has again secured its position as the best city in the world in 2025, holding the coveted spot for the tenth consecutive year. This year’s ranking, released by Resonance Consultancy, reaffirms London’s global dominance in culture, business, and lifestyle.

New York came second in the list of top ten cities of 2025, followed by Paris, which came third. Singapore came in fifth for next year, making it only one of two Asian cities to make the list alongside Tokyo, Japan. When ranking these cities, several parameters were considered, such as nightlife, dining, shopping, cultural vibrancy, hashtags, the quality of the natural environment, air quality, and architectural environments.

Best city in the world 2025: London takes the lead

The annual study by Resonance Consultancy — a global expert on economic development, real estate, and tourism — analyses over 22,000 global residents from 30 countries, gathering data from Google, TripAdvisor, and Instagram to determine the world’s top metropolitan cities with more than one million people.

The top 1o best cities in the world 2025:

  1. London, UK
  2. New York, US
  3. Paris, France
  4. Tokyo, Japan
  5. Singapore
  6. Rome, Italy
  7. Madrid, Spain
  8. Barcelona, Spain
  9. Berlin, Germany
  10. Sydney, Australia

London’s exciting nightlife and airport connectivity have helped the UK’s capital rank top of the list again for 2025. Specifically, the Elizabeth Line of the London Tube, the renovation of Gatwick Airport, and the addition of the new Camden Highline have made travel smooth and convenient.

The city’s top attractions, growing tech industry, and leading financial industry add to its reputation as a global icon. Furthermore, London is the only city this year to get the top spot for seven out of 28 subcategories used to evaluate the rankings, from museums to Instagram hashtags.
