London travel news LIVE: Chaos as Overground part-suspended amid Euston points failure

Passengers are facing travel chaos on Thursday after the London Overground was hit by major disruption.

No trains are currently running on the Overground between New Cross and Surrey Quays, or between Sydenham and Crystal Palace.

Severe delays are also impacting services between Highbury & Islington and Clapham Junction/West Croydon following a signal failure near Hoxton and Shoreditch High Street.

Tickets are being accepted on London Underground and buses via any reasonable route.

It comes as commuters faced disruption after several Tube lines were hit by major delays on Thursday morning.

The District Line faced severe delays between Barking and Upminster due to an earlier faulty train at Earl’s Court. On the Northern Line, severe delays were reported following an earlier points failure at Kennington.

Meanwhile, the Victoria Line has major delays between King’s Cross and Walthamstow Central due to a faulty trains at Seven Sisters.

Travellers are also experiencing delays on trains due to a points failure between London Euston and Watford Junction, which has blocked some lines. Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services into the capital are affected.

Disruption between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon

A fault on a train between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 1pm.

London Underground hit by delays across multiple lines

Commuters are facing widespread disruption on the London Underground with severe delays affecting the District, Northern, and Piccadilly lines.

The District Line is experiencing severe delays between Barking and Upminster due to an earlier faulty train at Earl’s Court, though the rest of the line is operating a good service.

On the Northern Line, severe delays are reported following an earlier points failure at Kennington. Passengers can use tickets on London Trams, Southeastern, Thameslink, South Western Railway, and buses via any reasonable route.

The Piccadilly Line has severe delays eastbound between Acton Town and Cockfosters after an earlier customer incident. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Greater Anglia, and Great Northern. A good service is running on the rest of the line.

Northern Line part-suspended due to points failure at Kennington
