London travel news LIVE: Euston slammed as ‘unsafe’ as passengers face delay chaos
Railway lines between London Euston and Watford Junction have reopened as emergency services responded to a “casualty on the track” near Bushey.
London Overground trains are part-suspended while Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services are also disrupted.
National Rail says the “major” disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
Meanwhile trains are running through Barnes station once again after a knife attack left a man fighting for his life.
The station was shut following the stabbing of a man in his 20s, who has been rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
It comes as the M25 in Essex was closed anti-clockwise between J28 near Brentwood and J27 following a crash between a lorry and a van. Two people have been rushed to hospital following the crash, which caused a massive 20-mile tailback, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

Severe delays continue on Overground after casualty on track

Severe delays on the Overground are continuing, TfL has said.
The delays are hitting services between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town / Cheshunt / Chingford after a casualty on the track.
Major disruption at Liverpool Street until 10pm

Major disruption at London Liverpool Street is now expected until 10pm.
National Rail said lines have reopened between London Liverpool Street and Cheshunt via both Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters following the earlier incident where a person was hit by a train.
The incident means Greater Anglia are affected, alongside the London Overground and Stansted Express.
Euston lines re-open but ‘major’ disruption expected until end of day

The line has re-opened between London Euston / Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction after a casualty on the track.
Network Rail said “major disruption” was expected until the end of the day, as trains may still be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised.
Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, and Overground are affected.
Fallen tree blocks line between Waterloo and Reading

A fallen tree has thrown train services into disarray between Waterloo and Reading.
A South Western Railway spokesperson said: “We have been informed of several trees blocking the line between London Waterloo and Reading.
“This means that trains on some lines through this route are currently blocked.
“Our specialist teams are working to clear the trees from the track at Ascot, Brentford and Egham – services will be delayed, cancelled or revised while this situation is ongoing.”
Disruption is expected until 9pm.
Great Western Railway commuter disruption over ’emergency services’ incident

Great Western Railway services have been disrupted near Swindon due to an emergency services incident.
The incident between Swindon and Didcot Parkway means line is blocked.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or diverted, passengers are being warned.
The disruption is expected to last until 5.30pm.
Severe delays on M25 after serious collision

Severe delays are expected on the M25 after a collision between a car and a motorbike near Sevenoaks.
The collision has happened between junction 5 for the M26/A21 (Sevenoaks) and Clacket Lane Services.
The M25 is partially-closed in both directions as a result. The air ambulance has been called to the scene.
Drivers are being advised to seek alternative routes. They are also being told to expect significant delays in the area.
It is not yet known when this stretch of the M25 will reopen.
Southern services disrupted after person hit near Shepherd’s Bush

A person has been struck by a train near Shepherd’s bush, Southern Raul said.
The emergency services are dealing with an “incident” between London Euston / Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction, the rail company said.
To allow them to safely carry out their work, some lines are currently closed.
Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised until the end of the day.
The disruption affects Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, and London Overground as well as Southern services.

There is currently no service on the London Overground between Watford Junction and Euston as emergency services respond to a casualty on the track.
Passengers with London Overground tickets may use London Underground services via any reasonable route as an alternative. All other London Overground routes are operating a good service at this time.

Severe delays on District Line

The District Line is currently experiencing severe delays between Tower Hill and Wimbledon due to a Network Rail signal failure at East Putney.
Passengers are advised that their tickets will be accepted on London Buses and South Western Railway services. The rest of the District Line is operating a good service.

Three lorries and a van involved in M25 crash

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a major crash involving three lorries and a van caused severe disruption on the M25.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. No other injuries were reported.

Barnes station stabbing: Ambulance crews arrived at scene in 60 seconds

A man, in his 20s, stabbed at Barnes station has been taken to a major trauma centre, London Ambulance Service said.
A spokesman added: “We were called at 7.07am this morning (Thursday September 26) to reports of a stabbing in Station Road, Barnes.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived in one minute.
“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road as a priority.”
Commuters face disruption between Dartford and London Bridge

Commuters are facing major disruption this morning after a signalling fault blocked the line between Dartford and London Bridge.
Trains running towards the capital may be cancelled, revised or diverted via Bexleyheath, causing headaches for thousands of passengers.
Network Rail warns the disruption is expected to last until at least 11am, urging travellers to check their routes before setting off.
Two rushed to hospital following M25 crash

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a serious collision on the M25 near junction 28 early this morning.
The East of England Ambulance Service scrambled a major response, including an air ambulance and hazardous area team, after the crash at 5.56am.
One patient was rushed to Queens Hospital while another was taken to The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine.

‘Absolutely no place for violence on railway network’, says police

Police have strongly condemned this morning’s knife attack at Barnes station in south-west London.
Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “There is absolutely no place for violence on the railway network and detectives are working at pace to investigate the incident.”
The station remains closed as police investigate. Increased patrols are being deployed across the network.
Blackburn added: “The public will see increased high-visibility patrols in the area and across the network to provide reassurance.”
M25 closed after lorry crash near Brentwood

The M25 in Essex is closed anti-clockwise between J28 near Brentwood and J27 following a crash between a lorry and a van.
Emergency services are at the scene.
Severe delays are reported from J28 A12 (Brentwood / Brook Street Roundabout) to J27 M11.
Congestion can also be found at J30 A13 Lakeside and back along the A12 and A127.
One lane has now reopened clockwise at J28 after being blocked since 6.50am, but severe delays continue back to J27.
Stabbing victim is in life-threatening condition, says police

Police have confirmed that a person has been rushed to hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries following a stabbing at Barnes station.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police told the Standard: “Officers were called to Barnes railway station at around 7.10am today (26 September) following reports of a serious assault.
“Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are consistent with stabbing and are considered to be life threatening.
“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 89 of 26 September.”
London’s biggest hubs including King’s Cross and Waterloo hit in ‘cyber security incident’

Ten of London’s biggest train stations have had their Wi-Fi networks hacked in a “cyber security incident”.
Police are investigating after the attack on internet services at 19 stations across the UK managed by the Network Rail.
Ten stations in London have been affected by the hack.
They are: Euston, Victoria, King’s Cross, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Liverpool Street, Paddington, Clapham Junction and Waterloo.
