London tube closures this weekend: the full list of travel disruption for December 6-8
If you’re heading into town this weekend to do your Christmas shopping, you should be aware that there’s going to be some travel disruption, affecting lines including the Piccadilly, Elizabeth and the freshly re-named Weaver and Suffragette lines.
Don’t worry though, you’ve still got options. Here’s all the TfL disruption you need to watch out for this weekend.
Piccadilly line
On both Saturday and Sunday there’s no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge. Use Metropolitan line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge. Replacement bus PL4 will run between Acton Town and Rayners Lane.
Elizabeth line
Until 7.40am on Sunday December 8 there will be no service between Paddington and Ealing Broadway. The last train from Heathrow Terminal 5 at 12.07am on Sunday morning will terminate at Ealing Broadway.
On Sunday a reduced service will operate between Paddington and Heathrow / Maidenhead (in addition, there will be no service until 7.40am between Paddington and Ealing Broadway). Six trains an hour will serve Ealing Broadway, Southall and Hayes & Harlington in each direction, four trains an hour will serve West Ealing and Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, and two trains an hour will serve Acton Main Line, Hanwell, Heathrow Terminal 4, West Drayton, Langley, Slough, Burnham and Maidenhead.
DLR
On Saturday and Sunday there will be no service between Poplar / Stratford International and Beckton / Woolwich Arsenal. Use the Jubilee line between Stratford and Canning Town, and Elizabeth line for connections between Custom House and Woolwich (for Woolwich Arsenal). Replacement buses will also operate.
Overground
Mildmay
On Sunday there’s no service between Kensington (Olympia) and Clapham Junction. There will also be no Southern service between Watford Junction and Clapham Junction. Use local buses instead.
Weaver
Until 10.15am on Sunday there’s no service between Liverpool Street and Chingford. Use local London Buses connections between Liverpool Street and Hackney Downs. Replacement bus L3 will operate between Hackney Downs and Chingford via Clapton, St James Street, Walthamstow Central, Wood Street and Highams Park.
Until 10.15am there’s also no service between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town / Cheshunt. Greater Anglia trains will not call at Hackney Downs. Replacement bus LI will run between Seven Sisters and Cheshunt.
Suffragette
On Sunday there’s no service between Barking and Barking Riverside. Take bus routes EL1 EL2 and EL3 instead.
Northern line
Colindale and Kentish Town tube stations remain closed.
Lidl is opening three new London supermarkets next week.
The entire Elizabeth line now has 4G coverage.
