The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has signed a deal to be the presenting partner for the NFL’s London Games, according to Kyle Chouinard of the LAS VEGAS SUN. The deal is “part of a larger effort” by the LVCVA to “reach potential tourists in the United Kingdom and Ireland, the city’s largest source of overseas visitors.” LVCVA Chief Marketing Officer Kate Wik said, “This partnership is an incredible opportunity to stay top of mind for this key international sports-minded audience. You’re not going to see us heavily pushing it here, but it is a focus specifically for that UK audience.” Chouinard wrote the Las Vegas “presence will be felt” at two London stadiums, with “Visit Las Vegas” ads on the jumbotron and TV spots throughout the NFL season in the U.K. and Ireland. This October, Jets-Vikings and Jaguars-Bears will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Jaguars-Patriots will be held at Wembley Stadium (LAS VEGAS SUN, 9/10). In Las Vegas, Richard Velotta noted the two-year agreement will “expose football fans in Great Britain to the entertainment, sports and special attractions Las Vegas has to offer” (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/10).
