Man charged after sunglasses worth more than £5k stolen from Bluewater John Lewis

Vivian Torak, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of theft after crates of beer were allegedly stolen on two occasions from the Co-op on Dene Holm Road, Northfleet.

The total value of the stolen goods is estimated to be around £50.

Torak has been conditionally bailed and is due to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 1.

In a separate incident, security staff at Bluewater Shopping Centre alerted officers after several pairs of sunglasses, worth £5,347, were stolen from John Lewis.

Police located the suspect in a nearby car park.

Brian McAllister, 45, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft, including an earlier theft from a shop in Chelmsford, Essex, on 20 May.

McAllister, who is from Dartmouth Road, Forest Hill, has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 11.
