(04/06/24)
Mandarin Oriental has opened the group’s second property in London,

as well as
77 private residences.
Room 506 at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London
Designed by Rogers Stirk
Harbour + Partners, the hotel is not only the first new-build in Mayfair for over a decade,
but also one of the first Vierendeel-structured buildings in the UK.
The building was developed and is owned by Clivedale London.
The hotel’s rooms, suites and residences were crafted by
Studio Indigo. The flowering magnolia design of the House of de Gournay
hand-painted silk wallpaper in the rooms was
considered in relation to the Feng Shui of each room
and is a nod to the trees found in Hanover Square, whilst the chinoiserie is a subtle reference to the hotel
group’s oriental
heritage.
Facilities at the hotel include a spa, 25-metre
swimming pool, sauna, vitality pools, experience showers, gym and
a choice of F&B outlets, including award-winning Chef Akira Back’s
London restaurant debut.
Later this year, the ABar Rooftop will open for
drinks and dining.
