Moscow sets out conditions for ending the war in Ukraine – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com

The leader of the “A Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth” party and faction in the State Duma, Sergey Mironov, has laid out the main conditions for the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

Should Kyiv accept the conditions then this achievement will create lasting peace.

Commenting on media reports, the Russian politician noted that if the West is really thinking about ways to achieve peace in Ukraine, then first they should “stop turning everything upside down.”

Speaking to LondonLovesBusiness.com Mirinov said, “First, it is important to recall the admissions of Western politicians, in particular Angela Merkel, that the Minsk agreements were adopted with the mediation of the West in order to give Kiev ‘more time,’ and not to prevent the development of the conflict in the Donbas.

“Today, Russia does not need any new Minsk agreements – this is the dream of Zelensky and his masters, who want to keep their anti-Russian puppet in power in Ukraine.

“Second, Russia is not going to discuss the status of its territories with anyone, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said.

“And finally, the main condition for peace for Russia is security at its borders.

“Let me remind you that the pro-Western neo-Nazi regime in Kiev, which came to power as a result of a coup in 2014, terrorized the people of Donbass for years and threatened them with total humiliation.

“That is why Russia was forced to launch a special military operation in 2022 to protect Russians in the Donbas, and then in other regions, including internationally recognized ones, in particular in the Kursk region.

“Russia is seeking the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine and its neutral status – without joining NATO, which is a bloc hostile to Russia. The future fate of the country should be determined by its people, freed from the dictatorship of Mr. Zelensky.

“Only the fulfillment of these conditions guarantees lasting peace in Ukraine. Otherwise, the preservation of Ukrainian statehood is unlikely.”
