Minnesota Vikings vs New York Jets- The first half

The Minnesota Vikings started their match by scoring 10 points in the first quarter. The New York Jets remained pointless in the first quarter of the match. If Brian Flores, who was a defending player from the Vikings, had not played the Sunday match, the Vikings would not have won against the New York Jets. The Vikings stopped Aaron Rodgers( the New York Jets player) two times in the first quarter.

First, Andrew Van Ginkel caught a Rogers pass from the air and raced the ball another way to a touchdown score. In the next round, another attack came from Rogers over the middle pass, but Vikings player Cam Bynum caught the ball.

After the first quarter, the score was 10-0. In the second quarter, the Vikings scored another touchdown, bringing the score to 17-0.  C.J. Ham, the Vikings player, scored the touchdown in the second quarter.

New York Jets Comeback before halftime

However, after trailing the Vikings by a big score of 17-0, the New York Jets made a powerful cameback. Aaron Rodgers, together with Allen Lazard, tried to bring this one-sided game to the Jets side. They both scored a most required 14-yard touchdown for the Jets. This brought the score to 17-7 at halftime.

Minnesota Vikings vs New York Jets- Second half

The New York Jets came back with a match-changing comeback just before the end of halftime and in the 2nd quarter. At halftime, the score was 17 for the Vikings and 7 for the Jets. After the Viking player Aaron Jones was injured in the first half, the New York Jets took over this opportunity and pulled off some great shots. Garrett Wilson’s remarkable performance came with 13 catches and a touchdown. Wilson’s scoring catch in the fourth quarter was much required by the Jets to win this match.

The New York Jets had an opportunity to win the match in the last three minutes of the game but did not succeed as Aaron Rodgers pass was picked off by Vikings player Stephen Gilmore. That one shot led to the fifth successive win for the Vikings.

Vikings Struggle in the Second half without Aaron Jones.

Vikings key player Aaron Jones had a hip injury by the end of the first-half in Sunday’s game. He did not play in the second half of the game. This particular fact benefitted the New York Jets’ play profoundly. The Vikings Offense attack appeared unregulated in Jones’s absence. There were a lot of penalties. Aaron Jones’s backup player, Ty Chandler, was also not able to fill in his steps.

The offense attack by the Vikings seemed more unregulated and leaky than it had been in the first four weeks of this season. Sam Darnold, the Vikings quarterback, also seemed inconsistent and out of his form.

The New York Jets Comeback gone wrong.

At the beginning of the second half, without Aaron Jones on the Vikings side, it seemed that the Jets were going to win this match with the help of Aaron Rodgers, who turned this one-sided match towards the Jets in the second half. However, it can also be said that the New York Jets lost this match because of Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers threw three interceptions, and all three of them were defended by the Vikings. In the last three crucial minutes, Aaron Rodgers’s pass against the Vikings eventually resulted in their loss and the Minnesota Viking’s win.

Key- takeaways from the Sunday Match

The great defence by the Minnesota Vikings, with the help of players like Brian Flores, resulted in their fifth win of this season. They crushed the New York Jets by a score of 17-23. However, the New York Jets had every opportunity to win this match. Still, factors like Roger’s three interceptions gone wrong and Sauce Gardner’s exit in the third quarter due to concussions resulted in the worst performance by the Jets on Sunday, 6th October.

The Minnesota Vikings are now 5-0 in this league, among the two- undefeated teams in this season. The other undefeated team is the Kansas City Chiefs.  They will host the Detroit Lions in Week 7 of the NFL. The New York Jets are now 2-3 in the league. The New York Jets will face the Buffalo Bills on October 15 in Monday Night Football.
