Three NFL Player Props for Week 5
Allen Lazard Over 2.5 Receptions (-168 FanDuel)
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard has long been one of Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets and that hasn’t changed on their new squad.
Lazard was a smaller part of the offense last year as Rodgers missed the season with an Achilles injury, but he already has 16 catches through four games — seven shy of his total of 23 from last season.
The veteran wide receiver has been targeted 24 times through those four games, including eight times last week against the Denver Broncos. He caught five of those targets for 58 yards. In fact, he’s gone Over 2.5 receptions in three of his four games thus far with the lone outlier being two catches on four targets in Week 2.
The Jets face off against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England. It’s an early start time for PA sports betting, and Lazard should be targeted early and often.
Through four weeks, 10 different receivers have had at least three catches against the Vikings. Last week, Green Bay Packers wideouts Jayden Reed (seven), Dontayvion Wicks (five), and Romeo Doubs (four) all cleared that mark.
The only team that had less than three receivers with at least three catches against Minnesota this season was the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. Even then, tight end George Kittle had seven catches to go along with Deebo Samuel’s eight and Brandon Aiyuk’s four, among others.
Look for Rodgers and Lazard to keep their connection going across the pond in London this week.
Stefon Diggs Over 4.5 Receptions (-146 FanDuel)
Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be facing his former team on Sunday at home as the Buffalo Bills come to town. The Bills traded Diggs in the offseason and the chip on his shoulder is just one of the reasons this is a great NFL pick for Week 5.
Diggs has gone Over 4.5 receptions in three of his four games thus far. The only time he’s gone under the number is in Week 2, like Lazard, when he had four catches on six targets.
Diggs’ usage has been increasing over the past two weeks with 10 catches on 12 targets in Week 3 and five catches on nine targets last time out against the Jaguars.
The Baltimore Ravens punished the Bills on the ground last week but Buffalo has also been susceptible against top receivers. Greg Dortch, Brian Thomas Jr., and Christian Kirk have all had at least five catches against the Bills this season.
With Tank Dell still questionable to play in Week 5 and Diggs facing his former team, quarterback C.J. Stroud should be looking to target the former Bills wideout on Sunday afternoon.
Jordan Love 260+ Passing Yards (-114 FanDuel)
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is proving to be the real deal. He had at least 260 passing yards in seven of his final nine regular-season games last season and then 272 in his playoff debut against the Dallas Cowboys.
Love was injured late in the Packers’ Week 1 loss to the Eagles after putting up exactly 260 passing yards. He returned last week against the Minnesota Vikings and lit them up for 389 yards and four touchdowns while going 32 of 54 through the air in a high-scoring affair.
The Los Angeles Rams have already been victimized this season by Kyler Murray (266 yards) and Brock Purdy (292), with Jared Goff (217) and Caleb Williams (157) also having decent games, all things considered.
The Packers are three-point favorites on the point spread and -166 on the moneyline on Sunday against the Rams. The total is set at a high 49, so there should be plenty of scoring and passing in this one.
