One dead in Hwy. 401 crash east of London

A 24-year-old from London died at the scene of a crash Friday morning that closed the westbound lanes of Highway 401 for six hours, police say.
The fatal two-vehicle crash happened about 2:15 a.m. between Culloden and Putnam roads in Thames Centre, Middlesex OPP said.

The highway between Culloden and Putnam roads was closed for six hours during the investigation, but has reopened.
In a post on social media, the OPP said it was a “tough night for all involved.”

Four males sought in north London arson
London police are asking for help from the public to identify four males in a suspected arson earlier this year.
Video surveillance from the time of the fire at a shopping centre in the area of Richmond Street and Fanshawe Park Road on Feb. 7 around 4:20 p.m. shows four males, but police are unable to identify them. The men are estimated to be between age 18 and 25, all are medium build, between five-foot-nine and six-foot-two, police said.
One man is Middle Eastern and was wearing black pants, a grey top and a black toque with headphones over the toque.
The second man, also Middle Eastern, was wearing black pants, a black top with a red logo on it, a dark green jacket with an oversized hood, and had black hair with glasses.
The third and fourth men are either white or Middle Eastern, police said. One was wearing white shoes, blue jeans, a black T-shirt with a black zip-up sweater and a white baseball hat with a Nike logo, and carried a black coat and green backpack. The fourth man has short brown hair and was wearing dark coloured pants, a black hoodie with an oversized black puffy coat, and a large chain.

Investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the fire, or was in the area at the time or knows the males to contact London police at 519-661-5670, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Information also can be sent anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
Brantford-area police probe sexual assault
Brant OPP is investigating a sexual assault and appealing to the public for help.
Police say the incident occurred at about 8 p.m. Wednesday when a person walking along a trail was sexually assaulted by an unknown individual. The suspect then ran off, police said.
The suspect is described as a young white male with dark brown hair and a slim to medium build. He is approximately six-feet tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white stripes on the sleeves, grey track pants and black high-top running shoes.
Brant OPP would like to speak to anyone who was on the trail system near Rest Acres Road between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 24.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Police also reminded trail users and nearby residents to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious individuals or activities to police.
