The trio, all described as being in their early 20s, reportedly stole more than $6,100 worth of merchandise, including cosmetics. Police believe the same suspects were involved in similar thefts across Ontario, including in Whitby, Ajax, London and Fergus.
In the first incident, the suspects entered Zehrs on Ontario Street just before 7 p.m. and snatched $600 worth of personal care products and cosmetics without making any attempt at paying, police said.
Around 7:30 p.m. that same evening, the trio entered a Shoppers Drug Mart and selected what police described as “large amount of product” that once again included cosmetics. They again left the store without making an effort to pay, resulting in a theft of more than $5,500 worth of items. The suspects were then seen leaving the area in a black Audi, police said.
The three males are each described as white. The first suspect was wearing a black ball cap with white lettering, a white T-shirt with A/X on the front, black shorts and a blue medical mask. The second was dressed in a dark bucket hat, a dark T-shirt and dark pants. The final suspect was wearing a dark-coloured ball cap, a black T-shirt with “Positivity” written on the back above a graphic design and a blue medical mask.
Stratford police ask anyone with information regarding their identities to contact 519-271-4141, or to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
