Plant Based World Expo Europe Sparks Innovation in London

The 2024 Plant Based World Expo Europe wrapped up another groundbreaking event at ExCeL London, solidifying its position as the premier plant-based professional gathering in Europe. Drawing nearly 3,000 attendees, the expo connected retailers, restaurateurs, and industry leaders hungry for plant-based innovation.

A Showcase of Global Innovation

Over 150 exhibitors from around the world displayed cutting-edge plant-based products, including alternative proteins, dairy substitutes, and sustainable ingredients. Attendees indulged in samples like sushi rolls, tikka kebabs, and sliders. Standouts included Shicken’s allergen-free range, Green Vie’s dairy-free cheeses, and Konscious Foods’ plant-based salmon and caviar.

The event also facilitated 950 hosted buyer meetings, connecting exhibitors with key decision-makers from 50 companies. This strategic networking opportunity proved vital for brands seeking to expand their reach.

Excellence in Plant-Based Products

The Plant-Based Excellence Awards crowned winners in 15 categories, celebrating products like Let it V Foods’ Veikon Bacon, the best product of 2024. Other winners included Jay and Joy’s Jeanne Blue Cheese Alternative and MYOM’s Original Oat Milk.

Jorge Osés Labadie, CEO of Let it V Foods, said, “It’s been two years of adventure, we are aiming to make the best bacon in the world, regardless of whether it’s from plants or pigs. Our next step is raising money and to go clean label, so this win is very helpful for us.”

Insightful Discussions and Culinary Demos

Three theaters hosted panels, educational sessions, and culinary demos. Experts discussed trends, consumer behavior, and the future of plant-based innovation. The Vegetarian Society unveiled its new Plant-Based Trademark, setting higher standards for labeling.

Culinary demos by The Happy Pear and celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager packed theaters, offering attendees a taste of creative vegan cuisine.
