Premier Inn to open hub property in City of London

Premier Inn owner Whitbread is planning to open a 212-bedroom hub by Premier Inn in London’s financial district next year.

The company has just completed the “topping out” of the Snow Hill property in the City of London, which is due to open as the hub by Premier Inn Old Bailey in early 2026 in a converted building that was formerly used as a police station.

Hub by Premier Inn hotels are located in city centres and offer more “compact” rooms compared with the budget brand’s typical Premier Inn properties. It was created as a sub-brand by Whitbread in 2014.

Mark Anderson, managing director for property and international at Whitbread, said the hotel would be “a significant milestone in our London growth strategy”.

“The strong demand for high-quality, affordable accommodation continues to make the capital a priority growth market for Whitbread and the City of London with its unique blend of business, culture and visitor attractions offers exceptional opportunities for expansion,” added Anderson.

Whitbread already operates six Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn hotels in the City of London, also known as the “Square Mile”. The Snow Hill property is one of three central London projects currently being developed by the company – this includes a 693-room hub by Premier Inn hotel in the Strand.
