Reed Sheppard’s church family hosts NBA Draft Party
LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) – Friends, former teammates, teachers and more gathered at Faith Assembly of God to support NBA Draft prospect, and London native, Reed Sheppard.
Faith Assembly of God Pastor Rodney Goodlett said the community is excited to see Reed’s big dreams come true.
People were able to enjoy roasted pig, fellowship, and dreams coming true in a gym which some close to Reed said is special to his journey.
“Just stopping by the church late nights, weekends, you never knew when Reed was going to be in this very gym late nights shooting basketball over and over and over but that proved to work out pretty well for him,” Misty Watkins, Reed’s former Youth Leader.
And with a close look at the person Reed is behind closed doors all in attendance agreed Reed is deserving both on and off of the court.
“But London doesn’t see something like this very often but no town does this is extremely rare air so everyone’ excited and just so excited for him,” Winston Griffin, family friend.
And when Reed Sheppard was announced as the third pick in the 2024 NBA Draft going to the Houston Rockets.
